February is American Heart Month, and for many, it’s not just a romantic campaign — it’s a time to focus on cardiovascular health. As heart disease is the leading cause of death in America, physicians and doctors all stress the importance of healthy eating, exercising, reducing stress, and quitting or avoiding smoking. A healthy heart is the key to overall health and well-being.
February is also the time to focus on loving yourself, which means putting yourself first. In eliminating some of the stressors in your life, improving both your physical and mental health, and properly nurturing your body, you are taking care of your body so it can take care of you. Here and there, we all need helpful reminders to put ourselves first. To provide a gentle nudge toward keeping your mind and body healthy and on track, we will be posting a Mindful Monday tip of the week each Monday on our Facebook page (insert link).
Here at Beach Cities Estate Law, American Heart Month means decreasing unnecessary stress in our clients’ lives by helping them put estate plans in place. We help you plan for peace of mind, knowing that you’re prepared for the future, whatever it may bring. Life is full of curveballs, and at times, you may find yourself face to face with the unexpected, so don’t get caught off guard!
As a service to our clients, and their friends and families who have not established an estate plan, we provide free Advance Health Care Directives on our website. Setting up an Advance Health Care Directive allows you to name your health care agent and to think ahead about what kind of care you want in the event that you are ever unable to make medical decisions on your own. By planning ahead, you can rest assured that important future decisions regarding your health care reflect your wishes.
